Paragon 360 renovates the 250 seat Feazel Chapel at First West Monroe, LA.
Extraordinary Small Room Project
Paragon 360 renovated the Feazel Chapel in 2023, which sits on the campus of First West, Monroe LA. The space seats 250 people and is most often used for funerals, weddings and the more intimate, traditional settings in the church. “Our project started with the renovation of this smaller space” said Tim Spencer, Executive Pastor, First West Monroe, LA. “As we built that room, we knew that some bigger things were coming behind it. We wanted to accomplish this project with a cost-effective solution. We feel that Paragon was able to accomplish that for us. We spent less money but had a really high return on our investment.”
A Refresh That Honors The Heritage
While the space needed to be refreshed and updated and while the technology needed to be enhanced to support today’s ministry, the goal was to diligently work towards maintaining the legacy of tradition the space offered. The Feazel chapel is highly revered by the congregation. The renovation breathed new life into the space while opening up new possibilities and preserving the heritage. The room is now used more than ever before and for a wider array of event possibilities.
"The success of this project really set the tone for all the other projects that were to follow with Paragon 360."
Modular Approach Saves Time & Money
The project included a complete redesign of the platform which resulted in a warm, inviting, space that had a very updated feel. All of the modular, architectural components with embedded LED lighting that make up the platform redesign were designed and fabricated at Paragon’s facility in Springfield, MO and then brought to the jobsite for quick and efficient installation, saving significant time and money. This is part of Paragon’s standard turnkey, design-build model.
Technology Enhancements
The technology enhancements included a new Danley audio system with excellent coverage and clear sightlines with custom coloring to match interior finishes. A new mixing system (Allen and Heath) was also provided along with new wireless microphone systems. The video system included (2) new Revelux 98” monitors for video displays and a small video control system linked to main control room with PTZ cameras (Panasonic UE-150). The entire lighting system was replaced with a new LED system consisting of (Chauvet E260, 3500K) for key light. All of the existing dimming infrastructure was replaced with DMX relays. House lighting was replaced with LED fixtures as well. Extensive acoustical work was included around the entire room that was ascetically pleasing and cut around stain glass windows with true craftsmanship.
A Successful Project
“There's no doubt that our success in Feazel Chapel really paved the way for the other renovations that came later with Paragon 360” states Spencer. “We preserved our tradition, our legacy in a room that had a very defined role. Accomplishing that with quality was very important for everything that followed. You know, the large, large projects that Paragon does get a lot of press. But I would say that Paragon brings a skill set to a big room and it's the same skill set they bring to a small room. They can deliver an incredible finished product, and they can do it cost effectively.”
