From Local Startup to National Design-Build Leader

Recently, Springfield Business Journal featured the story of Colligo Holdings and its family of companies that have grown from a small entrepreneurial startup into a nationally recognized enterprise serving a wide range of clients across the United States.

The story traces the origins of the company back to 2000 when Donnie and Karen Brawner founded what was then known as Brawner & Associates. Originally focused on large-scale live event production and theatrical consulting, the company quickly expanded into AVL integration work, completing its first major church project in 2002 and growing into a nationally recognized provider of integrated technology, architectural, and production solutions in a design-build format.

Over the next two decades, the company evolved significantly. Following the economic downturn of 2008-2009, the organization rebranded as Paragon 360 and expanded its capabilities beyond technology integration to include custom fabrication of scenic, architectural, and theming elements, interior design, acoustics, seating, and other specialty solutions. As client needs continued to grow, additional companies were formed to provide complementary services and strengthen the organization's ability to deliver turnkey projects.

The Formation of Colligo Holdings

Today, those companies operate under the umbrella of Colligo Holdings, a Springfield-based holding company established to provide shared leadership, strategic direction, and operational support across the enterprise. In 2025, founders Donnie and Karen Brawner sold their ownership interest in Paragon 360 to Colligo Holdings. Donnie Brawner remains a majority owner in Colligo Holdings alongside partner Todd Carroll, with Ryan Cowen and Chris Koenig serving as minority owners and key leaders within the organization.

Three Companies. One Integrated Enterprise.

The Springfield Business Journal article highlights the three primary operating companies that form the core of the enterprise:

Paragon 360 serves as a design-build integration firm specializing in audio, video, lighting, rigging, acoustics, interior design, and seating, along with architectural, scenic and theming elements, for churches, corporate environments, entertainment venues, sports facilities, themed attractions, and other specialty spaces.

Paragon Fabrication provides custom fabrication services in support of Paragon 360’s client base and its own clientele, transforming concepts into reality through advanced manufacturing, scenic production, millwork, metal fabrication, powder coating, and specialty construction solutions.

Xperience Construction serves as the enterprise's general contracting and construction management company, providing commercial construction services supporting projects throughout the family of companies.

While each company operates independently and maintains its own client base, Springfield Business Journal noted that the true strength of the enterprise lies in the way the organizations collaborate. Together, they provide a level of accountability, coordination, and turnkey project delivery that would traditionally require multiple vendors, contractors, and consultants allowing for more cost effective and expedited project delivery.

Built on Vision

Today, the Colligo Holdings enterprise employs more than 100 team members across four buildings totaling approximately 75,000 square feet in Springfield, Missouri. The organization has completed more than 1,500 projects nationwide and currently maintains active work across more than 30 states. The companies have worked for clients such as Wal-Mart, Bass Pro, Jack Henry, Herschend Family Entertainment and over 1,000 churches nationwide including Prestonwood Baptist, Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, and Bellevue in Memphis. The enterprise also includes real estate holding companies, OpusV, a public accounting firm, and minority investments in other complementary business interests that support the organization's long-term growth strategy.

Another focus of the article is the enterprise model itself. By centralizing administrative functions such as accounting, marketing, human resources, and operational support, the organization creates efficiencies that allow individual companies to remain focused on serving clients while benefiting from the resources of a larger enterprise. The model also provides opportunities for employee growth, career development, and talent retention across multiple disciplines.

Springfield Business Journal also showcased the recently renovated headquarters lobby, a project completed through the collaboration of Paragon 360, Paragon Fabrication, and Xperience Construction. The space serves as a demonstration of the enterprise's combined capabilities, featuring custom architectural elements, fabrication, integrated technology systems, acoustical treatments, specialty lighting, and a large-format ReveLux LED display.

Most importantly, the article captures the vision behind Colligo Holdings: a collection of complementary companies working together to create engaging environments that connect people through design, technology, construction, fabrication, and innovation.

We are grateful to Springfield Business Journal for recognizing the growth of our organization and sharing the story of the people, companies, and partnerships that continue to shape our future.
