Paragon 360 delivered a turnkey solution to help Immanuel Baptist Church create a premier event space for the Little Rock community.
Immanuel Baptist Church has a rich history in Little Rock, Arkansas. Established in 1892, missions are in the DNA of Immanuel Baptist Church with a significant focus on the Little Rock community. To deepen their roots in the community, Immanuel Baptist Church purchased a building that could be leveraged for community outreach events such as food and clothing distribution drives as well as a medical space to give back to the community that’s given them so much. Additionally, the Church wanted to build a premier, multi-use event space the city could be proud of.
Immanuel Baptist Church needed a partner that could deliver a turnkey solution - taking an empty building and turning it into a premier event space. Paragon 360 designed and outfitted the space with a custom audio, visual and acoustic solution to fit the multipurpose need for the Church and ensured the project was delivered on time for their first community event.
“Paragon listened. And that was important to me because I didn’t want someone to come in and see a blank canvas and say this is what you need. I wanted them to listen to us and they did.”
The completely new audio system included a comprehensive speaker system from Danley Sound Labs. With low ceilings, sight lines were important to maintain so multiple SH50 cabinets were used with the SHDFA downfill modules attached to the bottom of each. In combination with a single SH95HO for center front fill and a pair of DBH218 subwoofers, the system provides even, full range coverage throughout the auditorium. The system is powered with Danley DNA amplifiers and processed using Q-Sys control software from the QSC Core 110f.
FOH mixing duties were handled with an Allen & Heath D-Live series S5000 mixing system that includes a DM48 Mix Rack, a Dante card and a complete Waves Server-One combo. This mixing platform, consistent with the DLive products the church uses in their main auditorium, enables a simple transition for technicians as they switch between venues. Onstage personal monitoring is via Allen & Heath ME-1 mixers. The Allen and Heath ME1 person mixing system integrates perfectly with the DLive platform.
Wireless IEM monitoring was accomplished via Shure PSM900 transmitters and receivers with an RF Venue antenna combiner.
New Shure ULXD wireless microphones were deployed that included rechargeable batteries and charging cradles. The wireless microphone system was completed with a Shure PA821A antenna distributor and a pair of Shure directional antennas.
A Wi-Fi/RF base system from Listen Technologies was installed that allows users who need hearing assistance to listen via WiFi from their own device or from traditional RF receivers.
A custom package of hardwire microphones, direct boxes, stands and cables from Audix, Shure, Radial and ProCo finish out the system input needs. On-stage there are (8) Ace Backstage double-wide floor pocket locations for all audio connections along with the same connections that are mirrored on the backstage wall for when the stage is removed. All equipment is housed in Middle Atlantic enclosures along with Furman and Middle Atlantic power protection and sequencing systems.
Because the space needed to be fit for multi-purpose use, Paragon 360 acoustical engineers had to consider how to provide an excellent audio experience whether the space was used for a solo presentation from the stage to live music. Leveraging the industry’s leading acoustic panel solution, Paragon 360 wrapped the perimeter walls of the worship center with acoustic material, covered by FabriTRAK. FabriTRAK's technology enabled the space to maintain the interior design aesthetics while achieving pristine acoustical balance.
To deliver a premier event space, a custom LED wall was installed to provide a best-in-class visual experience. The solution included use of a Primeview 31.5' W x 9'4" 2.5 mm LED wall running at resolution of 3850 x 1152 pixels. The wall is driven by Primeview's 2300K control system and uses a Renewed Vision Pro Video Player to manage content to the extra wide video space. A robust fiber network links the video switchers, cameras, intercom and Dante enabling the remote content delivery from any of the church’s three locations. The result is a video system that allows more flexible use of the space, while providing an excellent visual experience.
Lighting includes WW LED houselights from Lumastream. The stage is lit entirely by Blizzard products, including the Blizzard Aria Profile RGBW ellipsoidals for front light, and the Blizzard Colorise Zoom RGBAW for back light. Blizzard G-Mix 200s were also installed as an additional layer of light for texture and movement. A Blizzard Lighting AtmosFear Tour Hazer was included for the use of haze, when needed. All of this is controlled by a Vista PC setup using the new MV control surface and the Vista 3 software by Chroma-Q. Additionally, Doug Fleenor Design 2 and 10 button wall stations were installed for easy lighting control when the console is not in use. Power control is also enabled from the console by tying in all lighting circuits to an ETC Echo Relay Panel.
“Walking into this room the day that Paragon finished and everything was running...it was amazing. Everything worked like it was supposed to and that was huge.”
